Jesus Alcantar

Alcántar spent the 2022–23 season on loan at Sporting B in Portugal's Liga 3, where he played 22 matches and scored twice.

He came back to Necaxa. Alcántar was promoted to the senior squad, making his Liga MX debut on 12 February 2022. After the Portuguese spell he returned for a second stint at Necaxa that ran to 2026, playing more than 20 matches for the first team.

The international record arrived alongside it. Alcántar came through Mexico's youth ranks at U18, U19 and U20 level, and with the U20s he won the Revelations Cup in both 2021 and 2022, appearing in three matches at the final stage. He was also named in the squad for the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, a tournament at which Mexico failed to qualify for either the U-20 World Cup or the Olympic Games.

The senior call came on 31 May 2024, in a friendly against Bolivia at Soldier Field in Chicago. Mexico won 1–0.

Born in Caborca, in the northern state of Sonora, Alcántar now plays for FBC Melgar in Peru — a third country in a career that has already crossed the Atlantic once. His market value is estimated at between €300,000 and €500,000.
