About the player
Palacios started out as a forward at Club Deportivo Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento in Carepa. At 13 he moved to Club Estudiantil in Medellín, where coach Alejandro Restrepo moved him back into the centre of defence.
The senior game came at Itagüí Leones, where he debuted in 2019 and stayed until 2021, with a loan spell at América de Cali in between.
Medellín signed him the following year. Between 2023 and 2025 he scored four goals for the club, and was loaned to La Equidad for a spell in 2024.
On 13 January 2026 he joined FC Orenburg on a contract running to 30 June 2029, for a fee reported at around $600,000. He is the first Colombian to play for the club.
