About the player
João Capucho came through Benfica's academy. There, in the 2024/25 season, he made three appearances in the UEFA Youth League.
He played four matches for the U17s and six for the U18s. From there, Benfica moved him into the U23 setup for the 2025/26 season, competing in the Liga Revelação, before sending him on loan to Benfica B in June 2025.
At Benfica B, Capucho has started to pick up senior football experience, appearing twice in Liga Portugal 2 without finding the net so far. In a friendly against Torreense, he did get on the scoresheet, scoring for Benfica B.
