About the player
Diogo José de Nazaré e Jesus Ferreira did not start out at Benfica. Benfica brought him in only in 2019.
Once inside the academy, Ferreira spent years working through the youth categories rather than pushing straight into contention for a senior shirt, appearing for the club's under-17 and under-19 sides. He made his Benfica B debut during the 2024/25 season, with the move to the reserve squad formally confirmed on 1 July 2025.
By the summer of 2026 he had amassed 44 caps across the age groups, from the under-15s through to a first appearance for the under-21s, taking in the under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-19 sides along the way.
