About the player
Justin Heekeren's move to Anderlecht in January 2026 closed the chapter on almost four years at Schalke 04. He signed for around €500,000 plus add-ons.
Heekeren's path to professional football ran through several youth sides in the Lower Rhine before he settled at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, where he made his senior breakthrough. Over three seasons there he was a regular presence in the Regionalliga West, appearing in 53 matches and establishing himself as a goalkeeper worth a move to a higher level.
That move came in June 2022, when Schalke signed him. He eventually making 31 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for the club.
At Anderlecht he has taken the number 32 shirt.
