About the player
Karol Świderski's first involvement with the senior Poland squad is still the moment people bring up: sent on as a second-half substitute for Robert Lewandowski in a World Cup qualifier against Andorra in March 2021, he scored soon after coming on.
He came through at Jagiellonia Białystok, taking bronze in the Polish league in 2014/15.
A switch to Major League Soccer's Charlotte FC in January 2022 put him in a very different setting. He was named MLS Player of the Week in September that year, and by the time he left the club in 2025 he had become Charlotte's all-time leading scorer — a record a loan at Hellas Verona in early 2024 did not disturb, since the option to sign him permanently was never taken up.
In the summer of 2026 Świderski returned to Poland, signing for Widzew Łódź on a permanent contract running to 2029. His busiest scoring year for Poland came early, with six goals in six matches in 2021, and he has kept his place through the years since.
