About the player
Kevin Ehlers is the son of former Bundesliga player Uwe Ehlers. Born in Munich, he moved through the youth ranks at Erzgebirge Aue and Rot-Weiß Sutthausen before spending eight years at Hansa Rostock. Dynamo Dresden took him on afterwards.
At Dresden, Ehlers made 93 appearances and scored once, and was part of the squad that won promotion from the 3. Liga to the 2. Bundesliga in the 2020/21 season. A single appearance for the under-20s followed. That rise was interrupted by injury, with an ankle ligament tear keeping him out between December 2019 and February 2020.
He left Dresden for Eintracht Braunschweig on a free transfer in July 2024, signing a three-year contract that runs until 2027. Since arriving as a centre-back, he has made 56 appearances and scored three goals. A knee injury in September 2023, during his final season in Dresden, was one of the setbacks that punctuated his path to Braunschweig, though it did not stop the move going through.
