Lucão

An Olympic gold medal sits near the top of Lucão's record, won with Brazil's under-23 side at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, staged in 2021. It came at a point when the goalkeeper had barely begun his senior club career.

That career started at Vasco da Gama, where he came through the academy and broke into the first team in 2020 as the club's youngest goalkeeper of the 21st century at the time. His busiest spell followed in 2021: 14 appearances, one of them a clean sheet. He also collected a Taça Rio that year, having won the Rio de Janeiro under-20 championship the season before.

The move to Red Bull Bragantino in February 2022 came on a free transfer, with Vasco retaining half of his economic rights. What followed was four seasons of intermittent football. One match in 2022, seven in 2023, eleven in 2024, five in 2025 — 24 Série A appearances in total, with a clean sheet in each of his last three years at the club.

The junior international record is fuller than the club one. Before Tokyo, Lucão had won the South American Under-17 Championship in 2017 and the Toulon Tournament in 2019. He holds Brazilian citizenship only; he has no Portuguese passport and has not been called up by Portugal's senior side.

In January 2026 Gil Vicente bought him outright from Bragantino, on a contract running to 30 June 2028. He wears number 30 in Portugal, and arrives with no individual awards to his name.
