About the player
Micah Burton is a product of Austin's academy, having joined the club's development system in 2021 before signing his first professional contract as a homegrown player on 9 January 2024 — only the second academy graduate to make that step up, following Owen Wolff.
Before the step up to the first team, Burton put in the work with Austin FC II in MLS Next Pro, where his return of 14 goals and 7 assists across 81 appearances.
His form with the international youth set-ups has followed a similar pattern. Burton has represented the United States from under-16 through to under-20 level, scoring 5 goals in 23 appearances across those age groups. He was part of the group that went to the 2023 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship as well as the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia that year.
Burton's first-team involvement with Austin remains limited so far, with 2 appearances in MLS during the 2026 season.
