About the player
Mame Mor Ndiaye arrived at Dongguan United in February 2026 to continue a career built almost entirely in Norway. Before making the move to China, the Senegalese forward worked his way through the Norwegian lower and mid-tier leagues, turning out for Fram, Raufoss, Åsane and KFUM. That path, rather than any spell in a bigger league or a call-up to Senegal's national team, shaped the player Dongguan United signed.
Standing 188 cm tall, Ndiaye offers the kind of physical presence coaches look for in a central striker, and he plays with his right foot.
Dongguan United itself has gone through several changes of identity since its foundation as Dongguan Machong Rongyi, passing through spells as Guangdong Rongyi and Guangdong Lianghetang before settling on its current name in 2021. The club won the fourth-tier China League Champions in 2020 and earned promotion to China League One in 2022, building the kind of momentum that now brings foreign forwards such as Ndiaye into its squad. The team plays its home matches at Dongguan Stadium or the Nanhai Sports Center Ground.
For Ndiaye, the switch to Chinese football marks a step into a different footballing culture after years spent almost exclusively within the Norwegian pyramid. How he adapts to China League One will be the first test of whether that grounding translates to a new environment.
