About the player
Mads Borchers built his career on the move, changing countries almost every year. After leaving Esbjerg fB's academy, he was loaned to the Faroe Islands in 2022, where he scored 12 goals in 25 league matches for 07 Vestur, good enough for fifth in the scoring charts. He then joined another Faroese club, HB Tórshavn, before crossing to Sweden's Allsvenskan with Varbergs BoIS in the summer of 2023.
Finland is where his scoring form became hard to ignore. He moved to Vaasan Palloseura in March 2024 and, in his first Veikkausliiga season, scored 10 goals in 16 matches — again finishing fifth among the league's top scorers. An injury sustained in August 2024 kept him out for a large part of the second half of that campaign.
In July 2025, Borchers took his scoring record to Germany, signing for FC Ingolstadt 04. That spell did not last long: by February 2026 he was back in Finland on loan at HJK Helsinki, with an option to make the move permanent. HJK exercised that option in August 2026, tying him to the club through the end of 2028.
He has not been capped by Denmark's senior national team, and has yet to win a league title or cup with any of his clubs.
