About the player
Martin Achkov came through CSKA Sofia's youth ranks before making his first senior appearances at Litex Lovech, where a single appearance in the 2018-19 season marked the start of his professional career. A move to Slavia Sofia followed, but the left-back could not force his way into the first team there, and a loan spell at Spartak Varna in early 2020 brought him four matches of senior football.
It was at Septemvri Sofia, from 2020, that Achkov established himself as a regular starter. Over four seasons with the club he made 85 top-flight appearances and scored four goals.
He joined Botev Vratsa in 2024 and has since become a fixture there, passing the 49-appearance mark for the club and scoring once. A left-footed full-back.
