Martin Hansen

Martin Hansen was still on the books at Liverpool when he moved on loan to Bradford City, before a return to Denmark set him on a route through half a dozen leagues. Viborg and FC Nordsjælland gave him regular football again after the English spell, and from there his career became a study in movement: a switch to ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands, then a €950,000 move to FC Ingolstadt in Germany, with a loan to SC Heerenveen along the way.

The Ingolstadt fee marked him out as a goalkeeper clubs were prepared to pay for, and Basel followed in 2018 for a further €250,000, taking him into Swiss football before a spell at Strømsgodset in Norway. Hannover 96 brought him back to the Bundesliga 2 in 2020, and he stayed with the German club for two seasons before returning north.

Hansen signed for Odense on a free transfer in August 2022, agreeing a contract running to 2027. His appearances for the Danish side have been concentrated mostly in his first season there, with fewer opportunities since.

At international level, Hansen's involvement was confined to Denmark's youth ranks, with a handful of appearances across the U16 to U21 age groups. His career instead developed through a long sequence of club moves across Denmark, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Norway before he settled at Odense.
