About the player
Miller Bolaños made his first-team debut at Barcelona SC in Guayaquil in 2006, having come through the club's youth ranks after starting out at Caribe Junior. He moved to LDU Quito in 2009: he won the Ecuadorian league title in 2010 and lifted the Copa Sudamericana and the Recopa Sudamericana.
A loan spell at Chivas USA followed before he returned to Ecuador with Emelec, where he won back-to-back league titles in 2013 and 2014 and finished as top scorer of the 2014 Copa Sudamericana. He was named the best player in the Ecuadorian league in 2015, topped the scoring charts with 25 goals, led the league in assists and was named the tournament's top scorer at the Copa Sudamericana. He was also included in South America's Team of the Year that season.
He won the Copa do Brasil that year and added the Copa Libertadores in 2017.
He moved to Guayaquil City, in Ecuador's second division, in 2024. Internationally, Bolaños earned 25 caps for Ecuador, scoring eight goals, and represented his country at the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Copa América.
