Nenad Tomović

The move that shaped Nenad Tomović's career came in 2012, when he left Genoa for ACF Fiorentina as part of a co-ownership swap involving Juan Manuel Vargas. He stayed five seasons in Florence, the longest spell of his career at any club, and reached the final of the Coppa Italia in 2013–14, finishing as a runner-up.

Italy took up more than a decade of his working life. He arrived at Genoa CFC in 2009 for €1.8 million, spent the 2011–12 season on loan at US Lecce, then moved on from Fiorentina to AC ChievoVerona — first on loan, then permanently — and to SPAL on the same pattern, on loan before a permanent deal.

The foundations were laid at home. He came through at FK Rad, joined Red Star Belgrade in 2006 and won the First League of Serbia and Montenegro and the Serbia and Montenegro Cup in 2005–06. A loan sent him back to Rad for the 2006–07 season before he returned to Red Star until 2009.

He was capped 22 times by Serbia between 2008 and 2015 and made three appearances for the Olympic team in 2008. He was in the Serbia squad at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where the team finished twelfth.

The later years were spent in Cyprus: three seasons with AEK Larnaca from 2021, then a single season at Nea Salamis Famagusta. He joined FK Čukarički as a free agent on 1 July 2025.
