About the player
At Norrby IF, Olle Backlund followed the route many of the club's academy products take: he came through the youth ranks, moving up from Norrby's own U19 side, and was promoted to the first team in October 2022. Since then he has settled into the right side of defence, wearing the number 14 shirt for a club competing in Superettan.
Backlund's game has been built primarily on defensive duties, though he has occasionally been used further forward, appearing in midfield in some matches when the team's setup has called for it. He has not represented Sweden at senior international level, and his career to date has been spent entirely within the Norrby system, without a move to another club.
He remains under contract at Norrby through the end of 2026.
