About the player
Ousmane Ndong's path into professional football ran through Argentina rather than Europe. After coming through academies in Senegal, he joined the youth setup at Lanús, where the club switched him from midfield into defence. He broke into the first team in November 2020, making his debut in the Copa de la Liga Profesional — becoming the first Senegalese player to appear in Argentina's top flight.
His contract with Lanús was terminated in January 2022, and the following months took him across three continents in quick succession: Albion in Uruguay, Gualaceo in Ecuador, then two clubs in Iran, Esteghlal Khuzestan and Gol Gohar Sirjan. At Esteghlal Khuzestan he found the net three times in 14 appearances.
In July 2025, Ndong signed a three-year contract with Akhmat Grozny, the terms of the transfer undisclosed.
