About the player
Preslav Borukov's career began at Levski Sofia. In June 2016, aged just 16, he joined Sheffield Wednesday's youth setup. He returned home in 2020 as a free agent and joined Etar, where his form — 12 goals in 30 appearances.
What followed was a run through several leagues in quick succession: a brief stint at Hungary's Zalaegerszeg, then Lokomotiv Plovdiv, before a productive spell at Arda Kardzhali produced 11 goals in 37 matches. That form carried him to Maritimo in January 2024, where he spent two and a half seasons. His personal output there was modest, with two goals in 32 appearances, and in July 2026 he moved on again, joining Botev Vratsa as a free agent.
Borukov's involvement with Bulgaria's youth ranks included a hat-trick for the Under-19s against Gibraltar. He made his senior national team debut in 2023 and scored his only goal for the side that September, in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Montenegro.
