About the player
Pablo Matías González Maciel began his career at Liverpool de Montevideo, the club where he came through the academy between 2014 and 2016. In January 2013, while still a teenager, he was called up to Uruguay's under-17 squad for the Esperanza Alba tournament in Chile.
After leaving Liverpool's youth ranks, González Maciel moved through a string of Uruguayan clubs, starting with Defensor Sporting in 2017 and 2018, followed by spells at Atlas and Albion. He returned to Liverpool in 2022 before taking his career abroad for the first time, joining Gimpo in South Korea's K League 2, where he played through 2023 and 2024.
Back in Uruguay, he turned out for Deportivo Maldonado in 2024 and rejoined Albion the following year. In 2025 he moved to Ecuador on loan with Albion's blessing, joining Macará.
