Patricio Salas the Merida-born forward has built his América career in patches.
The clearest mark he has left on a match came against Querétaro in March 2026. América had lost two straight, and Salas scored in the 62nd minute to seal a 2-1 win.
Under Liga MX's rules, no sanction followed.
Fitness has been the recurring obstacle. He missed training time through injury in April 2025, and a serious knee injury in March 2026 ruled him out for close to a year — a blow that landed at the same time as fitness problems for teammates Henry Martín and Víctor Dávila, thinning out América's attacking options just as Salas was pushing for more minutes.
He was called into a Mexico under-17 training camp in late 2020, and has since won the Supercopa de la Liga MX with América in 2024.
