About the player
He came through at Liaoning Hongyun, where he spent his first professional years between 2016 and 2019, before going out on loan to Shenzhen Peng City in 2019. He returned briefly to Liaoning afterwards, but the loan proved to be a preview of what came next: in 2020 the move to Shenzhen was made permanent.
Shenzhen became the closest thing to a home for him, though even there his stay was interrupted. In April 2022 he was transferred to Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic, only to return to Shenzhen before the year was out. That back-and-forth pattern continued this year, when he moved on again to Qingdao on a free transfer.
Wang has not been capped by the senior China national team, and his career has been built almost entirely at club level, without major individual honours to his name. One moment from recent months stood out for the wrong reasons: in a match against Dalian Yingbo, he was sent off deep into stoppage time, in the 90th+2 minute, a late flashpoint in a game that was otherwise unremarkable for him. It is the kind of detail that tends to stick to a defender's record more than any of the quieter seasons that came before it.
