Rubén Alejandro Botta Montero

Rubén Botta began his football education at Boca Juniors before moving into Tigre's youth ranks, where he broke into the first team in 2009 and stayed for four seasons, making 61 league appearances and scoring five goals. That run earned him a move to Inter Milan in 2013, though he did not join the Italian club until the following January and made only ten Serie A appearances without scoring, with a loan spell at Chievo bringing more regular football.

A switch to Mexico in 2015 changed the shape of his career. At Pachuca he made 43 appearances and scored eight goals, and the club won the Clausura 2016 title during his time there — the first league championship of his career. He returned to Argentina in 2017 to join San Lorenzo, where he spent three seasons and made 56 appearances, before a brief stint at Defensa y Justicia in 2020.

Botta then moved to Italy for a second spell, first at Sambenedettese and then at Bari, where his form was consistent: 50 appearances and six goals across two seasons, and a Serie C title in 2021–22. He returned to Argentine football in 2023, playing for Colón before a longer stay at Talleres de Córdoba between 2024 and 2026, where he made 57 appearances.

In 2026 he went back to Defensa y Justicia for a second spell, adding 13 appearances and a goal, before moving on again in August 2026 to join Nacional in Uruguay, where he has made three appearances and scored once. Across a career built mostly in Argentina, Italy and Mexico, Botta has not been called up to the Argentina national team at any level.
