Ricardo Saúl Monreal Morales

Ricardo Monreal's path to Necaxa began far from the top division, in the youth ranks of Alebrijes de Oaxaca, where he first broke into senior football before the club's stint outside Liga MX interrupted his run there. He returned to Oaxaca for a second spell and then moved on to Pumas Tabasco, gathering experience in the lower tiers before making the step up to Necaxa's first team as a forward wearing number 30.

The clearest mark on his career so far came with Mexico's under-23 side. In 2023, Monreal was part of the Mexican Olympic squad that won gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games, a result that stands as the main title on his résumé. His international story started even earlier, with two appearances and a goal for Mexico's under-18 team, showing an eye for goal that followed him through the youth ranks.

That underage form and the Games gold eventually opened the door to the senior national team. In 2024, Monreal earned his first cap for Mexico, a single appearance that marked the top point of his international involvement to date rather than the start of a settled run in the squad.

At club level, his career has been built through steady steps between Oaxaca and Tabasco before arriving at Necaxa, a route more common for young Mexican forwards than a single high-profile breakthrough. He has yet to add individual honours to his name, and his story remains one still being written on the pitch rather than in the record books.
