About the player
Sam Rogers signed with Chicago Fire in 2025, arriving from Norwegian side Lillestrøm. The move brought the defender back to the American league where his professional career began.
Rogers came through the Sounders' youth setup between 2013 and 2017 before joining Tacoma Defiance, where he spent four seasons. A brief spell at OKC Energy in 2021 preceded a switch to Norway, first on loan at HamKam before the club signed him permanently. Rosenborg then took him on, and after two seasons he joined Lillestrøm, with a loan spell at Aalesund along the way. The Norwegian chapter spanned roughly three years and several clubs.
Internationally, Rogers has represented the United States at both youth and senior level. He was part of the U.S. under-20 side that won the 2018 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship. His senior debut for the United States came on 28 January 2023, in a match against Colombia.
