About the player
Two goalscoring titles in consecutive seasons put Tamble Monteiro on the map. In 2022/23, playing for SC São João de Ver, he finished as the Taça de Portugal's leading scorer with six goals. The following season he moved to FC Felgueiras 1932 and topped the Liga 3 charts with ten goals in fourteen matches.
He came through the academies close to home in Coimbra: GR Vigor Mocidade, then Académica de Coimbra from 2009 to 2017, and UC Eirense until 2020. The senior career began at Anadia, where he made 44 appearances and scored six goals across two seasons.
Portimonense signed him in January 2024. Physical problems limited his playing time early that year, but he went on to make 51 league appearances for the club up to February 2026, scoring 18 goals.
Rio Ave paid around €2m for him in February 2026. He made 12 to 13 appearances in the 2025/26 season and provided a single assist.
Although he holds Portuguese citizenship, Monteiro represents Guinea-Bissau. He debuted in March 2025 against Sierra Leone in 2026 World Cup qualifying and scored in that first match. He has since won ten caps.
