About the player
In the summer of 2023, Uroš Stojanović found himself in a European qualifier almost by accident. He had just joined Armenian side FC Urartu, and when injuries to Yaya Sanogo and Periša Pešukić combined with Ivu Ugochukwu's move to Rubin, the Serbian defender made the squad for the UEFA Conference League ties against Farul of Romania.
That season in Armenia turned out to be brief: 12 league appearances and one cup match. It sat oddly against the stretch of his career that came before it. Stojanović had spent four years at Radnik Surdulica in the Serbian SuperLiga after arriving in the summer of 2019, playing roughly 117 league matches for the club. His last full campaign there, 2022/23, brought 35 appearances, one goal and one assist.
Before that, the route was a familiar Belgrade one. He moved to FK BASK in 2014, then to FK Žarkovo in 2015, and spent 2017 to 2019 at FK Bežanija, the lower-division years that the main statistical aggregators barely recorded.
He returned to Serbia in the summer of 2024 as a free agent, joining Železničar Pančevo, where he played 28 matches and scored once. Every one of his departures since Radnik has come with his contract expired.
In August 2025 he came back to the city he was born in, signing for OFK Beograd on a free transfer. His first season there was a substantial one — 27 SuperLiga matches and two goals. Six matches and an assist have followed in 2026/27. He is comfortable with both feet, which has kept his options open across the back line.
