Vitalii Roman

Vitalii Roman joined the academy system in Novyi Rozdil under coach Viktor Pavroznyk before moving into the Karpaty Lviv youth setup. His first taste of senior football came with Karpaty itself: a Ukrainian Cup debut in August 2020, followed weeks later by his first appearance in the second-tier league.

That spell in Lviv proved brief. By October 2020 he had switched to Rukh, then playing as Rukh Vynniky, and it was there that his career took shape.

Roman's progress did not go unnoticed by Ukraine's youth set-ups. He worked his way through the age groups, from the under-17s through to the under-21s, and was capped repeatedly at each level. The clearest highlight came in September 2023, when he scored his first goal for the under-21 side in a European Championship qualifier against Northern Ireland. That form carried him into the squad for the 2025 Under-21 European Championship, the furthest point of his career with Ukraine's youth ranks to date.
