Y. Abdulaziz

Yusuf Abdulazeez made his name in Nigeria before Swedish football pulled him north. At Gombe United he went from fringe player to first-team regular within a year, and by the 2021/22 season he was the Nigerian Professional Football League's second-highest scorer, a return that put him on the radar of clubs abroad.

Mjällby AIF signed him from Gombe United in August 2022, but the move never really opened up a path into the Allsvenskan side — four appearances, no goals, over three years on the books. Instead his career took shape away from the parent club, through a string of loans that kept shifting the picture. A spell at Skövde AIK produced six goals in thirteen Superettan matches, sharp form that did not carry over in full to Varberg BoIS the following year, where twenty appearances brought three goals. The loan to Norrby IF in 2025 read as more of the same pattern of a player kept out on the fringes of Mjällby's plans, yet it turned into the spell that mattered most: 21 games and 5 goals in the Superettan, enough to convince Norrby to make the move permanent.

With his Mjällby contract expiring at the end of 2025, Abdulazeez joined Norrby as a free agent and signed through the end of 2027. The switch has paid off quickly. Through July 2026 he has scored four goals in fifteen appearances for the club, and wears the number 9 shirt.

Internationally, he has represented Nigeria at under-20 level, including a World Cup appearance, and has one cap for the under-23s. A senior call-up has not followed.
