Abu Muslim

Abu Muslim and city rivals Adalat Farah share an owner, Haji Abdul Hamid Sharifi, and when Abu Muslim won 8-0 in the 2024-25 Afghanistan Champions League, a third club, Attack Energy, filed a complaint with the Afghanistan Football Federation over the fixture and then disbanded in protest. Several of its players moved on afterwards, among them the national-team defender Mahboob Hanafi, who signed for Abu Muslim in January 2025.

The club, founded in 1967, plays out of Farah, in the west of the country, at Farah Stadium. Locally it is known as the Champions of Qala-e-Fereydoun.

Abu Muslim finished runner-up in the league in 2022, four points behind Attack Energy's 31, then went one better in 2024-25, taking the title in the competition's fifth season. The squad that won it carried two returning internationals: Harun Amiri, a former Afghanistan captain who came back to the club that January, and Zob Islam Amiri, a defender who captains the national side. Up front, Jabar Sharza has been the club's key forward through the run.

In AFC Challenge League qualifying, Abu Muslim has met Bhutan's Paro FC twice and lost both times, 0-1 in 2025-26 and 0-2 the following season, going out before reaching a group stage either time.
