Thirty-one Sudanese league titles sit behind Al Hilal: championships in 1965 and 1966, then again through the 1980s, the 1990s, the 2000s, and on into 2023-24 and 2024-25. Ten Sudan Cups sit alongside them, the first taken in 1954.
The club came out of Gordon Memorial College. Its graduates founded it on 13 February 1930 in Omdurman, and the city has held it since — Al-Hilal Stadium , 35,000 seats, blue at home and white away, the Leaders to those who follow them, the Blue Wave to the rest.
A third final followed in 2001, in the Arab Cup Winners' Cup.
The war changed where the club plays. Since 2025 Al Hilal have been based in Rwanda, competing in the Rwandan Premier League rather than at home, and they won it. Databases now list the club under Rwanda and give Kigali Pelé Stadium , with its 22,000 seats, as the ground — a record of where the fixtures are being played, not of where the club belongs. Omdurman remains the home address.
