The yellow and blue kit earned it the tag Auriazules early on.
In its founding year the club already had a Sub-12 side good enough to win the Torneo AFG, the youth competition run by the Asociación de Fútbol del Guayas, and by 2025 that pipeline had produced an Amateur League Sub-14 title as well. Aldair Vásquez left for Técnico Universitario.
At senior level, Astillero plays in Ecuador's Segunda Categoría: runner-up in 2023, beaten by Naranja Mekánica on penalties, then champion in 2025 with a 4-1 final win over Atlético JBG, and champion again in 2026, again on penalties, after Milagro FC held them to 1-1. María Elizabeth Palma Velásquez has presided over the club since 2025; Fabián Frías took charge of the first team for the 2026 campaign.
Home games are played at the Estadio Alejandro Ponce Noboa, a 3,500-capacity ground owned by the Asociación de Fútbol del Guayas rather than by the club itself.
