Immigrants from the former Yugoslavia settled in Malmö in the early 1960s and put one together in the Rosengård district on 22 November 1962. FBK Balkan has stayed there since, playing in blue and white at Rosengårds IP.
Its one point of wider recognition has nothing to do with any of that. Zlatan Ibrahimović started his career at Balkan as a boy before Malmö FF picked him up, and the club is still introduced by that fact before any other.
Thirty years after its first promotion out of the bottom tiers, FBK Balkan has yet to reach anything higher than Division 3.
