Baranavichy

Baranavichy have spent more of their history proving themselves in the Belarusian Higher League than competing among the elite.

The club traces back to 2008, when HC Baranavichy first took the ice in the higher divisions. In 2018 hockey returned to the city through the BFSO "Dinamo" sports society, initially under the same name before the rebrand to HC Aviator Baranavichy in 2019. The Extraliga stint that followed lasted three seasons, its high point a thirteenth-place finish in 2019/20, before relegation sent the club down to the Higher League for three years. It was there, in 2023/24, that Aviator reached the playoffs for the first time, finishing eighth, a result that earned them the trip back up.

Aviator have never won a trophy in either the Extraliga or the Belarusian Cup, and the club's identity has been built less on silverware than on its place in the Brest Region. Matches against HC Brest carry the weight of the Oblast Derby, the two clubs being the region's representatives.

Viktor Shariton, who had played in the KHL, coached the club through its early years back in the Extraliga, bringing a level of experience the squad had not had access to before. Among the players who have worn the jersey since, Maxim Naletov is the name most closely tied to the Aviator era.
