Barcelona Bàsquet

The section carries more silverware than almost anything else in European club basketball, twenty-seven Copa del Rey wins among them, but the number that separates it from most domestic champions is two EuroLeague titles, in 2003 and 2010.

The basketball team grew out of the football club in 1926, adopting the same blue and garnet from the outset, and it is now the oldest section still competing in the Liga ACB. It plays at the Palau Blaugrana, a ground that holds 7,585.

Juan Carlos Navarro spent his career at the club and had his number 11 retired there — Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol and Ricky Rubio among them, all developed here before moving on.

Matches against Real Madrid Baloncesto are billed as the Spanish Clásico, and the history between them adds an edge that no other fixture in the league carries. Madrid have the greater number of European Cups between the two clubs, and that gap, more than anything in Barcelona's own cabinet, is what keeps the rivalry unsettled.
