Basconia

That arrangement sets the ceiling: Basconia cannot climb past whatever division Bilbao Athletic occupies above it, however the season goes.

The name came from the ironworks. La Basconia, later Altos Hornos de Vizcaya, gave the club founded on 14 March 1913 both its title and its early membership, and the black-and-yellow stripes have stayed put through everything since.

The regional titles came first — Vizcaya champions in 1927–28, then a ladder of Biscayan divisions climbed in consecutive seasons at the end of the 1940s. Four Tercera División titles followed across half a century, the last of them in 2002–03.

Home is the Polideportivo de Artunduaga, capacity 8,500, occupied since the old ground at Basozelai — Estadio Pedro López Cortázar — was pulled down in 2007.

Basconia won Tercera Federación in 2024–25 and go into 2025–26 in Segunda Federación, Group 1, where the job is to hold a place in the division while the players who earn one move upwards and out.
