Blau Weiss Berolina Mitte Women

The women's side of Blau Weiss Berolina Mitte finished the 2025/26 season fourth in the Berlin-Liga and holding a cup. Winning the Berliner Landespokal put them into the DFB-Pokal der Frauen for 2026/27, and it comes from a team that only started playing official fixtures in 2013.

Two seasons before that they were a division higher. In 2023/24 the women played in the Regionalliga Nordost, Germany's third tier, then went back down to the Berlin-Liga. The cup run gives them a fixture next season that the league place on its own would not.

They play at the Sportplatz Auguststraße off Kleine Hamburger Straße, a ground with 1 000 standing places and no seats at all. It nearly stopped existing: in 1992 the site was earmarked for housing, and club members protested until the plan was dropped. The pitch was still short of official dimensions until 1999, when a neighbouring building came down and the playing surface was extended by 8 metres. An artificial surface went in three years later. Since the Stadion der Weltjugend was demolished, it is the only full-size football ground left in Berlin-Mitte.

The club that owns it took its present legal form in 1992, when Mediziner SV 49 and SV Berolina Mitte merged; the 49 kept in the name points back to the predecessors, one of which grew out of the Charité hospital. Around 1 800 members and 50 teams now sit under that name, in blue and white, known around the district as Bero.

What the women have not yet done is hold a place above the Berlin-Liga. The 2023/24 season in the Regionalliga lasted one year, and the cup does not change which division they start 2026/27 in.
