Buntentor

Two turning societies, TV Fortschritt Bremen and TV Fortschritt der Südervorstadt, merged on 6 June 1902 into the Allgemeine Turn- und Sportverein Buntentor.

What the club is known for regionally is the Bremen women's league. ATS Buntentor won it nine times, and the run between 2012 and 2015 came in four consecutive seasons. The first of those titles, in 2001, took the side up to the Regionalliga Nord, where they lasted a single season before dropping straight back. The second promotion, in 2015, held.

The German cup has given the club its rare meetings with clubs from outside the north-west. Buntentor have played seven ties in the DFB-Pokal Frauen; the furthest they have gone was the second round in 2001/02, after beating FC Eintracht Schwerin 2:0. In 2022 they knocked out Hamburger SV on penalties.

Since 2011 the club has run the International Girls Cup, a youth tournament that brings visiting sides to the Kuhhirten pitches each year and has become the part of the calendar the district notices most.

The 2025/26 season ended with a ninth-place finish in the Regionalliga Nord. Red and white remain the colours. The immediate task is a familiar one for a club of this size: staying in the fourth tier.
