In 2023, this military side won the World Military Women's Football Championship.
The club has moved and been renamed twice: it started in Busan in March 2007 as Busan Sangmu, shifted to Boeun in 2015 and took the Boeun Sangmu name, then relocated once more to Mungyeong in 2023, where it plays as Mungyeong Sangmu today.
The club's best league finish came earlier still, in 2011, when the side — then Busan Sangmu — placed fourth in the WK-League table.
Choi Yu-ri is the name most attached to the club's history, though not for anything she did in its colours.
Since the WK-League introduced a play-off round in 2013, the side has not reached it once, finishing most seasons between fifth and eighth place, and it has never made a Korea Cup final either.
