Caçador

Caçador's derby with Carlos Renaux of Brusque draws nothing from tradition — the club that would have carried that weight, Sociedade Esportiva Kindermann, gave up professional football in 2021. The fixture against Brusque carries the intensity of a derby all the same.

The club itself was not a continuation of anything. It formed on 25 June 2003, when a group of friends set out to run a football project built around social causes rather than around replacing Vasco da Gama or Juventude, the older clubs already established in the city. The name Tricolor do Contestado, worn by supporters known as the Brigada Tricolor, refers to the blue, white and black that separate it from Kindermann's yellow and black.

Josué was killed in 2017. The club returned to Série C form in 2019, beating Itajaí in the final under a different captain, Carlão, but the years either side told a harder story: relegation in 2014, a full year out of competition in 2015 for lack of money, and further drops in 2021 and 2023.
