The best season BC Jonava ever put together ran through the 2022–23 campaign, when the club reached the Lithuanian Basketball League final and came away with silver, and it followed that run to the King Mindaugas Cup as well, where the team knocked out defending champions Rytas Vilnius in the semi-final before losing the final to Žalgiris Kaunas 77–81. Virginijus Šeškus, the coach who took the team up from the second division and then to that final, was named LKL Coach of the Year for it.

Getting there took patience. The club's basketball history in the city goes back to 1969 under the name Statyba, and promotion to the top flight only came in 2020–21, after the second-division title. Between those two points the team played under a long line of sponsor names — Klevas, Triobet, Petrochema, Sintek-Jonava, CBet among them.

Jonava has also produced players who went on to win with the country's biggest clubs and its national team: Tomas Masiulis took a EuroLeague title with Žalgiris and an Olympic bronze medal, one of several Olympic medallists who came through the club along the way.

Home games are played at the Jonava Sports Arena, in blue, cyan and white, in front of a crowd capped at 2,200.
