Crumlin United

Crumlin United won the FAI Intermediate Cup twice in successive seasons, in 2008–09 and 2009–10, then did it again in 2014–15 and 2015–16. The senior FAI Cup has stayed out of reach. The furthest Crumlin got was the quarter-finals in 2019, after a last-16 place in 2009.

Relegation from the top flight in 2024 put them in the Senior 1 Sunday Division for 2024/2025, one step down. The other big fixture for the Crumlin Boys is against Cherry Orchard, the neighbours across South Dublin.

Four men started the club in 1967: Tommy Johnston, Jimmy Deering, Tommy Paisley and Noel Ryan. Johnston worked for the ESB, the electricity company, and served as first treasurer. He outlived the other three and died in January 2018, aged 93. Ryan was a friend of the Shamrock Rovers player Mick Leech, and the Leinster Senior League still plays a cup in Ryan's name. Deering ran a grocery shop before he founded the Tallaght Fuel Centre.

In 2004 the club took a case to FIFA and won €126,000 from Tottenham Hotspur for the development of a schoolboy who had played for Crumlin between 1990 and 1996. That schoolboy was Robbie Keane. The money paid for the pitch.
