Cyprus have one trophy to their name, and they won it in front of their own supporters. The Aphrodite Women Cup came to Nicosia in 2019, and the hosts took it: two wins and a draw were enough to top their group and finish first.

That was not, by any measure, an easy period to draw a result from. The side had needed until 25 April 2002 to play its first official match at all, and it lost that one, 2-4 to Greece, in Paralimni. Qualification for a World Cup or a European Championship has not followed; the team's work has run through the Nations League, Euro qualifying and friendlies rather than through the tournaments themselves.

There is no single ground to point to. Matches have been shared between GSP Stadium in Strovolos, built in 1999 and holding almost 23,000, and Makario Stadium across the city in Engomi, the smaller of the two. Neither belongs to the team outright, which is why the women's side has never settled into one home in the way a club team might.

Renos Dimitriadis now has charge of the squad, working with a group built around midfielders Andri Violari and Maria Panayiotou. Violari is the name that comes up first when the current team is discussed.
