Dalstorps

Football arrived at Dalstorp the way it did in most small Swedish communities of the era — a village on the edge of Tranemo needed a way to organise itself, and in 1949 Dalstorps IF gave it one.

The club's high point in national terms came early, in the golden run of the early 1980s, when Dalstorp reached Division 3 — still its best league placing. Titles since have come from further down the pyramid: Division 4 Västergötland Södra in 1980, 1984 and 2011, Division 5 Västergötland Södra in 2006 and 2009. Between 2009 and 2013 the club worked its way back up from Division 5 to Division 2, a climb Borås Tidning described at the time as better shape than Dalstorp had ever shown. The name reached its widest audience in 2017, when a Swedish Cup draw brought Djurgården and Elfsborg to play at Dalshov. A Division 3 title in 2025 has sent the club back into Division 2 for 2026, and by August it sits well up the table.

None of that has dimmed the appetite for the derby with Landvetter IS, which the local press still calls stekhett — scorching. Norrby IF, from nearby Borås, supplies the other regular fixture, the two clubs trading players as often as points. Around 1,000 members keep gymnastics, padel and fitness sections running alongside the football, all built around Dalshov, the artificial pitch that has stayed the club's home throughout.

What Dalstorp has never managed is a run in the Swedish Cup itself, or in Svenska Cupen more broadly — the 2017 tie was a home draw against bigger clubs, not a campaign of its own, and a place in the top flight of the pyramid remains as far off now as it was in 1949.
