Dinamo Bryansk

The club was founded in July 1931, and for its first five years the side sat among the leaders of the Western Oblast league before Bryansk's move into Oryol Oblast in 1936 knocked its results down. The war years broke the side up entirely; it came back together in 1945, and by 1949 it was finishing second in its zone of the RSFSR championship among works and society teams. Professional status arrived in 1960, in Class B of the Soviet championship, and promotion to the First League followed in 1989 after a Second League title.

The club held its place through the 1990s and 2000s in Russia's second tier, its best finishes a runner-up spot in the Second Division's Centre zone in 2003 and again in 2009, then fifth in the FNL in 2011. The following season it finished bottom of the First Division and dropped out of professional football altogether. It found a way back, winning the Zone Chernozemye tier of the third division in 2012/13, and a return to the professional pyramid that led, in 2025, to a Second League Division B, Silver group title.

Valeriy Petrakov started out at the club in 1975, a world junior champion who later returned to manage the side. The fixture against Oryol carries the older weight, a regional rivalry running back to the 1960s; by 2015 the two sides had met 66 times, a 1982 game finishing 6:1 and the 2015 meeting, a 1:0 win, standing as the club's 2000th match in Soviet and Russian league history. A 2008 Russian Cup tie brought Spartak Moscow to Bryansk and a 1:2 defeat, with a brace from Dzyuba. Home games are played at the Dinamo stadium.
