Dinamo Kirov

A finish of third in the "silver" group of the Second League's Division A followed straight on from winning Division B's group 4 the year before, and between those two results sits a club that spent most of its existence a long way from that kind of climb.

In 1956 the club won the RSFSR championship's zonal tournament and group final; in 1959 it took the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the RSFSR at the final stage for Class B teams; in 1981 came an outright RSFSR title. The following year produced the closest the club came to the Soviet top flight — 15th place in the First League of the USSR championship in 1982 — and in 1983 it reached the last 32 of the Soviet Cup.

The post-Soviet years brought Russian amateur and lower-league football: third place in the Second Division's Ural-Volga zone in 2006, a last-32 Russian Cup run that same season.
