«King's Shield»
The national under-23 side plays at the Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba. The team answers to the Eswatini Football Association, formed in 1968.
In qualifying for the 2024 Olympics, Eswatini beat Botswana 3-2 on aggregate in the first round before Egypt ended the run 1-0 over two legs in the second. For the 2028 cycle, the draw has paired them with Malawi in the first preliminary round, with the ties set for September and October 2026.
Friday Myeni coaches the side, working under the age-limit constraints that reshape the squad every two years: Quality Dlamini and Joseph Kibonge, both key players in the 2023-24 qualifiers, have since aged out of contention. Luyanda Nhlengetfwa captains the group that replaced them.
The stadium carries more certainty about its history than its capacity.
