G League United

Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz seats 2,505, a small enough bowl that the building has served as a temporary home rather than a permanent one — which suits G League United, since the team it houses is not really a club in the usual sense. It exists to gather players from across the NBA G League and send them out under one name for international competition, and it played its Fall Invitational fixtures at the arena in 2024 without ever settling there. There is no separate website or social channel; everything runs through the G League's own outlets.

The team was put together in 2024, and its business has been the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, staged both times in Singapore. In 2024 it reached the final and lost to Unicaja Málaga 60-75. A year later the sides met again in the final, and the margin narrowed only slightly: 61-71 to Unicaja. Two runs to the final without a title give the team a shape rare for a side reassembled each year — the roster changes, the result does not.

Coaching has rotated with the squad: Joseph Blair ran the team in 2025, handing over to Mahmoud Abdelfattah for the 2026 tournament, whose outcome had not been decided by the time of writing.

Among the players who have worn the jersey, Juan Toscano-Anderson stands out for arriving with NBA and G League experience already behind him, giving a squad built fresh each year a face that has actually been through a title run at the top level.
