Glamsbjerg

The ground sits on Assensvej, a short walk from the middle of Glamsbjerg, and holds 1 000.

The club dates from 1906. DBU Fyn, Assens Kommune, the football of a district rather than a country. The club's own site, writing about the coming season, talks about hoping to see people in the yellow-and-blue shirt, and that is roughly the scale of the ambition being described.

What visitors from outside Funen have mostly seen of Glamsbjerg is the Danish Cup, and the record there is short and one-directional. In 2020/21 the draw sent Esbjerg fB to town and the tie finished 0:8. Six years earlier FC Sønderborg had won 0:6, and before that Assens FC 0:5. The one that reads differently is 2023/24 against BK Marienlyst: 2:5, two goals scored against a side from a higher level, and the first of those cup ties in which Glamsbjerg were not simply cut open at will.

No national title, no cup run past the early rounds, nothing in the record books that would bring anyone to Assensvej who was not already coming. The stadium was not built for those afternoons anyway. It was built for the other ones — a thousand places, a town of a few thousand, and a season that begins and ends within an hour's drive.
