Gozzano

Gozzano sits in the Novara countryside of Piedmont — the source of the club's nickname, Cusiani. Football arrived here on 1 April 1920, when the town formed Club Sportivo Juventus Gozzano; the club counts its official history from 1924, the year it joined the FIGC.

The side was reconstituted as Associazione Calcio Gozzano in 1937-38. It returned only because Alfredo d'Albertas, a local patron, restored it — the ground the club still plays at carries his name.

For most of its history Gozzano stayed at amateur level, competing for years as ASD Calcio Gozzano. That changed in 2017-18, when the club won Serie D Group A and went up, for the first time, into the professional ranks of Serie C; the promotion was enough for the club to drop the amateur prefix and revert to AC Gozzano. Three seasons earlier it had already won the Piedmont-Valle d'Aosta amateur Coppa Italia.
