Hradec Kralove

The men's team of Hradec Králové plays at Sportovní hala Třebeš, branded GAPA Arena, a hall that holds roughly 500 people — 356 seats and standing room for the rest. The women's side, Hradecké lvice, plays across town at the Sokol hall on Eliščino nábřeží.

The basketball section grew out of TJ Sokol Hradec Králové-Pražské Předměstí 2 in 1924, making it one of the oldest basketball clubs in the country. The name has moved with the politics of the century: Dynamo under communist rule from 1953, back to Sokol after 1990. In 2015 the club settled on Královští sokoli — Royal Falcons — a nod to Hradec Králové's old title as a dowry town of Czech queens. The men's team now plays under the sponsored name BK GAPA Hradec Králové, while the Královští sokoli identity stays with the legal entity and the youth setup.

The women reached a final in 2019 and won it, beating KP Brno 68:63 for the Czech Cup under coach Romana Ptáčková, with Kateřina Zavázalová and Andrea Klaudová among the players who got them there. The men have had a rougher path: promotion to the top-tier NBL in 2018/19, a cup bronze in 2020/21, relegation in 2022/23, and the 1. liga title in 2024/25 that sent them straight back up. Matches against BK KVIS Pardubice carry the weight of the Východočeské derby.
